How to claim your rooftop solar subsidy in Andhra Pradesh, step by step.

How to claim your rooftop solar subsidy in Andhra Pradesh, step by step.

The PM Surya Ghar subsidy is generous, but the process involves the national portal, your distribution company, and a registered installer working in sequence. Here is what the journey actually looks like for a household in Andhra Pradesh.

Andhra Pradesh is served by distribution companies including APEPDCL, APSPDCL, and APCPDCL, depending on your district. Each step below is coordinated with your local DISCOM, and at Incremus we handle this coordination on your behalf so you are not left navigating it alone.

Step 1 — Register on the national portal

Begin at the official portal, pmsuryaghar.gov.in. You register using your state, your distribution company, your electricity consumer number, and your contact details. This creates your application and links it to your existing connection.

Step 2 — Apply and receive feasibility approval

Once registered, you submit an application for rooftop solar. Your DISCOM reviews the request and issues a technical feasibility approval, confirming that your connection and the local network can support the proposed system.

Step 3 — Install through a registered vendor

After approval, the system is installed by a vendor registered with the DISCOM. This is the stage where system design, quality of components, and workmanship matter most — a well-engineered installation is what determines your generation and savings for the next two decades.

Step 4 — Net metering and inspection

You then apply for a net meter. The DISCOM installs the bidirectional meter and inspects the completed installation. Once cleared, a commissioning certificate is generated on the portal, formally recognising your system.

Step 5 — Receive your subsidy

With commissioning complete, you submit your bank account details and a cancelled cheque through the portal. The Central Financial Assistance is then credited directly to your bank account, typically within a few weeks. Exact timelines and amounts are governed by the scheme and are best confirmed on the official portal.

Letting us carry the paperwork

Each of these steps involves forms, approvals, and follow-ups with the DISCOM. At Incremus, we manage the survey, the system design, the installation, and the subsidy process end to end — so the only thing you have to do is start generating your own power.
